Newark
is located in northeastern Vermont, 25 miles north of St. Johnsbury and 7
miles from the village of East Burke, home of Burke Mt. Ski Area. Village shops,
local tours, historic sites,
museums and
wonderful lunch stops can make a warm sunny day even more enjoyable. There are
plenty of small ponds and lakes for
fishing
and swimming, and many well marked
hiking trails on
the surrounding mountains. For biking enthusiasts, there is the
Kingdom Trails
network of 100 miles of trails for both the novice and more experienced biker.
We also have access to several miles of walking and biking trails just across
the road from us. Both the
St. Johnsbury ,Lake
Memphramagog and
Island Pond regions are within a half hour drive. Lyndonville, just south
of Newark, has more covered bridges than any other town in Vermont. And a visit
to the Bailey's
& Burke Country Store in East Burke is a must!
At 4 hours from Boston, 2-1/2 hours from Montreal or Burlington, and 6 hours from New York City, we are close enough to get away, and far enough to be gone.
